Is it true that after working as a contract employee through a staffing agency for the same company for 12 months requires the company to hire you for a permanent position?

Perhaps it depends on your agreement. there are also laws that after a while, prevent the regular employer from discriminating against you on benefits that they pay the "true" company employees, vs the "rental" employees after a while.

also check and see if this other problem may be applicable to you: Temp agencies are notorious for paying their employees LATE! They also many times use out of state payroll checks to create a float which you may be absorbing by virtue of a hold your bank may be requiring, or perhaps you even have to pay money at a check cashing place. this is all illegal. for more details and resources, including my phone number, visit www.californiawagelawyer.com
