Copy of Personnel File

Is an employer required by any statute in California to provide an employee with a copy of their personnel file? Does it matter if they are a non-profit organization?

yes there is a statute under the business and professions code. I dont think it matters what type of employer. I think they have a certain amount of time to comply with a request.

You are entitled to review your file at the employer's location. Labor Code 1198.5. You are also entitled to copies of any documents you signed. Labor Code 432. You are not entitled to a complete copy of the file.
