Legal Question in Employment Law in California

The Cost Of Working From Home

As I was setting up my home office I asked my employer to set up delivery of a desk and chair for me to work at. I received no reply from our HQ back east so I began using a spare desk at home that does not belong to me and grabed the chair that I had been using at the old office.

After asking many times if I can order a desk for my office and recieving no response at all. I know found myself needing to replace the chair. I asked about replacing the chair and recieved the following response three weeks later.

Sorry for my late reply, I hope that you haven't been sitting on the floor. Unfortunately, we no longer reimburse office furniture. Please note the list of equipment that is reimbursable under our field staff policy:

-Cell phone and mobile (hands-free) installation

-Business phone and wiring (for home office)

-Printer/fax machine

-Laptop computer

Is it not the law in California that my employer must supply all of the basic equipment needed to do my job?
