Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Deceptive Hiring, Unfair Work Environment, and Unfair Demotion
I was hired into a high-level, high-visibility technical position. After seven months without the intense training I was to receive (the CEO even told me he wanted me trained to a high level), I have been demoted into a Help Desk/Facilities group that represents a drop in scope of several levels from my professional level. This was done behind the scenes, without my knowledge or agreement.
My bosss attitude and demeanor toward me has alternated between verbal hostility and neglect. Several co-workers have commented on this to me. I have approached HR three times about his behavior. Nothing substantial has been done. Rather, the antagonistic environment has been allowed to continue, with his reward being his elevation to a higher level of responsibility while I have been demoted unfairly.
I left employment prospects on the east coast and moved to California to accept a position that my company has never delivered on. I believe I was hired deceptively, and rather than acknowledging that fact, the company has allowed a condition of duress to develop, hoping that I will quit.
I have done my best to improve the situation without success. I have maintained a great deal of documentation in support of my situation.

The Labor Code prohibits inudcing employees to move to California based on false promises. Further, you may have an action for fraudulent inducement. If you wish to discuss this further, please call me at 805/641-6600.
