Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Defamation of character
I am being wrongly accused of being a violent manager as far as yelling and cussing at employees. None of the accusations are true. My character and name is being tarnished and I need to know what my rights are- can I sue the company that is allowing this to happen and how do I go about filing a law suit?

Re: Defamation of character
Depending on the size and internal policies of your place of employment, you may first have to bring the issue to the attention of a supervisor or appropriate HR person. If they fail to remedy the situation then you may have a (tort)claim.
Re: Defamation of character
from the facts given, you appear to have strong causes of action for defamation and invasion of privacy (false light) from the false accusation. further your special damages may be presumed since it is dispariaging your "profession". if you would like further assistance in filing a suit in this matter, feel free to email me directly.
