Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Diabled parking

I work a part-time job at a MAJOR retail company and was told that I could not park in the disabled parking slots because I am an employee - when I said that I had a placard was asked for what disability and told that it didn't matter and that if I could work there I should not require parking in the diabled lot.

Just didn't quite sound right.

Please advise since I am subject to disciplinary measures or termination because I continue to park there regardless

Re: Diabled parking

Employers have an obligation to reasonably accommodate employees who have qualified disabilities to enable the employee to perform the essential functions of their job. This requires dialogue between the employer and employee. If you refuse to tell them what your disability is, how can they determine what needs to be done to accommodate you? How can you claim they are discriminating against you if you won't reveal your disability?
