Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I have been on disability for six months. I asked for a medical leave of abscence. My doctor has noted for me to be able to return to work in 12 days. My job is outside sales. Driving is a requirement for my job. My illness led to a lack of consciousness incident.

Recently the CA DMV hearing determined my license to remain suspended pending medical information.

I feel my employer will terminate me on return because I will be unable to drive. It will take time to find another job with a driving issue.

My need for is advice is, should I resign to avoid termination. What options if any to recieve unemployment benefits?

If you quit, it is harder to get unemployment compensation. Ask your employer to "reasonably accommodate" your medical condition. Is there another position you can work pending the driver's license issue?
