Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Discrimination in the workplace

I work full time for a local medical center in northern california. I recently took a part time job as a sales rep for surgical supplies. Our competitve hospital in this area called me to say that because being a sales rep is not my full time profession, it represents a ''conflict of interest''. They now say I can't come to their hospital any longer and earn a living. The really interesting thing to me is that there are two other technicians that I work closely with that do the exact same thing I do, but are welcomed at the other hospital. Isn't that discrimination towards me as an individual?

Re: Discrimination in the workplace

yes it is but that does not mean it is illegal. the key question is whether the reason for the discrimination is something that has been specifically outlawed.
