Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I drive a company truck in California, which I am required to keep at my residence, but can only use for company travel. Regardless of how many miles I have to drive to each job (several jobs per day), I am only reimbursed $1.50 per job and must spend my own money to fuel the truck. I am spending more on gas for the company vehicle than that. I cannot find any laws regarding this issue. Can you help? I believe that there must be a law that states that any money put into a company vehicle must be reimbursed.

Generally, Labor Code section 2802 requires your employer to reimburse you for any expenses that you are required to pay as part of your job, which includes using your own money to pay for gas for a company vehicle. However, you should consult with an experienced California employment attorney regarding your rights in your specific situation. My office handles claims like this all the time. 213 201 9331.
