Employee changing hours

My employer has changed my hours from a 7.5 hour day (which I have been here and worked for the last 16 years) to an 8 hour day. No more compensation has been offered. Is this legal?

Yes. Your employer has effectively reduced your hourly rate of pay. As long as you are getting more than the minimum wage, there is no violation.
