Employee out per doctor note

If I have an employee that came in with a doctors note stating that they need to be off work for 2 days. Can I request for them to bring in a note stating that they are able to return to work?

If you do, you may be obligated to pay for the Dr visit. I addition, if may constitute discrimination. It would be wise to counsel with an experienced employment attorney to help you fashion policies that will not violate the law. If I can be of help, feel free to contact me.
