Legal Question in Employment Law in California
An employee gives his supervisor compliments verbally, written as well as emailed over a period of time. These compliments are " you look nice today" " you are beautiful" and she does not tell the person to stop, report it to the manager or HR. A week and a half after receiving the last compliment(written) she reports it to HR.Shouldn't the supervisor have reported this immediately? In California supervisors are trained how to recognize sexual harassment and what to do.

I just answered this question. Employers are required to (1) take reasonable care to prevent sexual harassment; (2) take reasonable care to promptly correct sexual harassment that has occurred.
There are no specific actions an employer must take to satisfy the requirement that it take reasonable care to prevent or stop sexual harassment.
