Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I'm an employee who was terminated and I'm now negotiating a severance agreement. Is it possible (enforceable) to add a clause to the agreement allowing me to represent myself as employed by the company for a set period of time? Is this common?

The way to do that you agree you will make a letter of resignation and then have it effective months later and until then you're on unpaid leave.
