Can an employeer fire an employee after the employee gives two weeks notice.
My question comes from recent actions that occurred at the company I work for. We had an employee that gave two weeks notice yesterday. She was going to take a position at one of our companies competitors. She was fired the day after she gave notice because she was going to a competitor. She was also denied the pay due to her for the two weeks she gave notice for. Bottom line can an employeer fire an employee after the employee gives two weeks notice and refuse to pay them for their final two weeks?

Yes, the employee can be fired if there is no employment contract and she only has to be paid the actual time worked.
