can an employer legally place a corporate policy not allowing employees to sleep on their brake time of 30 minutes?

A California employer cannot restrict an employee from eating, sleeping, resting, going to the bathroom or leaving the premises during their 30 minute meal break, except in very limited circumstances. These breaks were written into the California Labor Code so that employees could relax and refresh themselves, and to prevent injury and damage that could result from overwork, hunger and stress.
