Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Can an employer cancel health ins. without any kind of advance notice to employee? Employee was on Family at the time. Employee had completed the leave and decided not to return to work.

If you notified the employer that you were not returning to work, you quit. You then no longer qualify for the insurance plan and the employer has no choice but to cancel you.
