My employer clocked me out while I was still working, Is there a written law that protects my rights

Why would he do so? You need to provide more facts.
Assuming that these facts are correct, this is a violation of both state and federal labor laws. Has this happened just once, or is it a pattern? Has it happened just to you, or to other employees as well?

Generally, this is illegal practice because under the labor code, you are supposed to be compensated for all hours worked. If your employer clocks you out (not an uncommon violations) before you finish your job, he prevents you from being paid properly. I suggest that you keep your own track of hours worked so that if you decide to pursue your claim for unpaid wages, you have evidence of the actual hours worked.
