do i have to tell my employer my diagnosis/ condition as to why i have a legal medical cannibis card.

Only if it effects your ability to do your work duties. But California is an "at will" employment state so your employer can fire you whenever they want without giving any reason, unless it is discriminatory as to physical disability and if you do not say what disability you have then your boss is not discriminating because of it.
