Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Employer failed to provide a paycheck on payday
I returned to work on Nov 13th from maternity leave. My paydays are on the 25th and 10th of each month. I did not receive a paycheck on Nov 25th or Dec 8th (we're paid on the Friday before if payday falls on the weekend) even though I have been working full-time since my return. My employer said they erred in not generating a paycheck, though I still have not been paid. What recourse do I have?

You could report it to EDD (State Labor Board) and penalties will attach. However that would not engender good will. You might give them a little more time to pay you. If it goes on too long, then you'll have no choice.
