Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Can my employer force me to pay back a relocation bonus if they never had me sign an offer letter nor showed me the offer letter. I am also still with the company but i chose not to keep that position after being in it for a month. My company is trying to quote terms in the offer letter as well but i was never even made aware that one even existed. I was just told that I would be receiving a bonus.
