Can employer force you to use vacation?

I work for one of the top 3 computer makers. They have recently enacted a policy of ''forced time off'' where I am required to take accrued vacation when THEY say I must.

I noticed a reply in another message which stated ''Although employers cannot take back what has already accrued, they can put you on notice that from here on'' which makes me think they can't change the terms under which I accrued this vacation on the fly.

Any ideas??
