Does my employer have a legal obligation to inform its employees of the method by which their wage is calculated?

In hiring anyone, an employer has to tell an employee what their pay would be, such as $200 per week for 37.5 hours 5 days a week or .50 per barrel of almonds picked. That is telling them how the wage is calculated. What other information could be given?
