Employer lied to deny me of unemployment insurance

I was fired without cause or notice. I then

filed for unemployment and was denied

because my emloyer lied and said I quit.

My hearing is in two weeks. Is it hiw word

against mine? How can he get away with

this. Isn't this purgury?

You tell your story, your employer will tell his. The decision is based on credibility, so don't try to hide anything that might even be embarassing. Be honest, truthful, and candid. Explain that it makes no sense to say that you quit, because you had nothing else lined up, and hadn't even been looking for work (if that's the case). Bring your rent bills and explain to the hearing officer that you now have all these bills you can't meet, so why would you have quit without another job, etc. Good luck!
