Legal Question in Employment Law in California
My employer made me take the day off because the person I work with "out in the field" is out for the day for religious reasons, instead of having me work in the office for the day. Is this legal?

Completely legal. You have no legal right to any particular hours or days of work unless you have a written contract guaranteeing it.
