If you are an hourly employee, the employer is required by California law to pay time and a half for hours over 8 worked in a day, or over 40 worked in a week. If your employer did not pay you in accordance with state law, you can file a complaint with California's Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) at http://www.dir.ca.gov/DLSE/
