Employer Negligence?
My girlfriend/fianc�e was at work when she started to show the signs and symptoms of a classic stroke. She couldn�t talk, was having a hard time understanding, and couldn�t write her name or signature in order to sign out on the time card and go home sick. Her entire right side was numb and tingly. The on duty-supervisor just had her go home. Once in her car, I was on the phone with her and made her stay-put. My parents picked her up and took her to the ER where she had a cat-scan and 2 MRI's. Our question is: Isn't her employer responsible for her safety and well-being while she is at work? Can they just let her go and tell her to drive home in that condition? What if she passed out, wrecked, or couldn�t find her way and perhaps died? I would like to find out if there is anything we can do to show their negligence?

Her stroke may have caused/aggravated by work pressure or some sort work condition. If a medical examiner come up with that conclusion even as a factor for her stroke, then the employer may be liable for any other foreseeable subsequent injuries such as car accidents while driving to ER and etc. Call us at 213.388.7070 if you need representation.
