employer paid medical

if your employer pays your family medical ins as a mangement perk, but it is not in writing. can he then stop paying your medical and take the premiums out of your check without letting you know first.

The law requires an employer to give its employees "reasonable notice" before it changes policies. The courts have yet to define "reasonable notice" with any precision, however.

In the area of compensation, and likely benefits, an employer can change its practices prospectively (in the future), but it must notify you so that you have an opportunity to stop working if you choose to. If you continue working, it is presumed that you implicitly agreed to the new compensation paid by the employer.
