Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Employer paying below minumum wage and no overtime

I have a job and part of that job requires me to help out driving a semi-truck but my employer will only pay $7 an hour for it and says they don't have to pay the $7.50 California Minimum Wage; are they lying?

In other job responsibilities (not related to the truck driving) they require me to work 10 to 12 hours per day with no overtime pay. They just have a set wage per days worked. Is that legal?

Re: Employer paying below minumum wage and no overtime

You should consult an employment lawyer with copies of some pay stubs and a detail of your work hours. Unless the employer has established a legal alternative work schedule, you are entitled to overtime for hours worked over 8 in a day or 40 in a week.
