can my employer (a pharmaceutical company), terminate the entire district i am part of, even if i am a top performer?

Unfortunately, if you are an at-will employee and have no employment contract that indicates otherwise, your employer may terminate you for any reason or no reason at all so long as it is not discriminatory (race, religion, age, etc).
