Legal Question in Employment Law in California
My employer propose a prepay card or direct deposit as means of payment. I went for the conventional direct deposit.
I was shocked to receive a debit card linked to a bank account that I have never applied for, from a third party at my job with my home address as delivery point. Now I'm being forced by my employer to activate this card even if I don't need it, want it or don't use it.
I am afraid to be a victim of some sort of ID theft or enrolled in a money laundry activity... Is this a lawful practice? Is an employer allow to force any type of banking institution on the employees?
