Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Is my former employer required to provide me with an employment verification letter listing all my positions held while I was employed at the company. I requested an employment verification letter from my former employer and it only listed the last position held, which I only held for 1 month, but I was employed with the organization for 3 years. Due to a company reorganization my position was retitled. Thank you very much. RB

There is no law that requires employers to verify employment, much less details of that employment. You can request individual managers you worked for to provide letters of reference, but cannot compel them to do so.

If you have any documents reflecting your prior positions, such as performance reviews, you can submit those to prospective employers.
