Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Employer Slander
I was in the final stages of a background interview for a law enforcement agency when they asked my previous employer about me. I had been wrongfully terminated, pending arbitration. 3 judges with Unemployment court already ruled that I was wrongfully terminated. I had a perfect record for 11 years when I was terminated. Now my former employer has made up information and given it to the background investigator, who has disqualified me because of this info. It was basically my word against his. What can I do?

We recommend that you contact an attorney in your area. You may contact your county bar association to obtain an appropriate referral.
Good luck!
