Help! Don't Employers Have To Offer Open Positions To Employees That Were Termin

I was terminated from my job of 12+ years last Friday 10/13 and presented with a seperation & release agreement to sign. I only have been given 7 days to respond (sign) this document. My question is that on this document it says that my employer does not have to give me any special consideration for another position now and/or ever. In the department that I managed at the time of seperation, there were open positions in my dept., dont they have to make some sort of accomodations for me as part of the restructure? Too, my company is an "at will" employer, do I have any recourse?

P.S. Another part of this document says that I agree that the only reason for the seperation is due to restructure-this is NOT true. Can I ask that they change the wording if I sign?

You can ask him to make any changes you want them to make. They don't have to make the changes and you don't have to sign the document.
