Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Are Employers Required to Provide Employee Lunch Breaks?

Lunch Breaks

Are California Employers required to give employees lunch breaks? I work alone in a retail store, I am allowed to leave for 5 or 10 minutes to go get lunch, but I must come right back. I never have anyone to cover for me to actually take a lunch break. I do not think that I am an exempt employee because I have set hours that I have to be at work, and I am not allowed to vary these hours at all.
