Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Can employers treat unequally?

My company is going through unannounced layoffs and is letting people go on a rolling basis. My friend and I are going to be laid off. He works in another department and is being offered a better package. We perform the same duties but I am senior and have had better reviews. Yet, I am being offered a smaller package. I am a minority and female. Do I have to take this?

Re: Can employers treat unequally?

you may have very strong causes of action for both illegal gender and/or minority discrimination from the facts given so far. email me more information on your situation as well as the reasons you suspect management is lowering your severance package in respect to yor co-worker and i can further assist you with your case and legal rights against your employer.
