Legal Question in Employment Law in California
If an employment contract does not define what termination "for cause" means, where are you suppose to find this definition? What about looking at the unemployment insurance laws?

Generally "just cause" means a relatively serious violation of company policy or some kind of misconduct that rises above mere mistake or negligence. This definition commonly applies to collective bargaining agreements between the company and the union. Unemployment Insurance laws and definitions only apply to unemployment compensation benefits determinations and have no bearing on employment contracts.
Thanks.
