Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Employment Discrimination
Does California have a discrimination law for persons with a Felony. Is is legal to deny me employment even when I have been told I meet all the requirements, have signed offer letters from various companies (pending my background check results) then upon the company receiving my background results to find that I had a Felony conviction for a drug possession charge. I am not a sex offender, violent criminal, not forgery, not robbery, nor identity theft, no embezzlement, I have found that my life ended when I was manipulated to plead guilty to a charge that was a lie. What do I do now to make a living? I have been denied General Relief from State assistance, no cash, no food, no bus vouchers, NOTHING. It seems that the system forces people to commit crimes just to survive.
