My 16 yr old graduated early-he is done with high school-is starting a new job and they want a work permit from his school....due to his age....where do I get that now?Or--does he need it legally now that he is a college student?

The California Labor Code excludes high school graduates under the age of 18 from child labor restrictions. That means High School graduates are not subject to the permit requirements, work hour restrictions and, other occupational prohibitions. But, under federal law, high school graduates under 18 may not be employed in certain occupations prohibited to minors under 18 unless they also have completed an approved, bona fide course of training in that occupation.
