Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Am I entitled to the specific reasons for my position elimination?
My position was eliminated at the end of January from a major entertainment company. The events surrounding the layoff were extremely suspicious and appeared to be personal feelings over job performance driven. I sent a letter to the President of the company expressing my feelings and the nature of my complaint. I received a letter today from a rep. from labor relations stating ''the decision to eliminate my position was based on objective, consistently applied criteria and not personal feelings''. Am I entitled to details and request what that consistently applied criteria is?

they do not have to tell you the reason they fired you and they can fire you just because they dont like you.
