Can exempt employees pay be docked for not working a full day

I am an exempt employee that went home early after a few hours on two days and did not come in on a third. My pay was docked .The following week I worked 12 hours over my reqired hours and did not get any extra pay. Iwork most weeks over my required hours and I m not compensated. Is this legal?

An employer's continued practice of docking an exempt employee for any part of a day, will result in removing the employee's exempt status. An employee may be able to recover overtime compensation as a result of the loss of the exempt status.
