Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Expenses outstanding

I gave my employer two weeks notice and received my final check on 6-19-02. It is now 7-28-02 and they still owe me over 500 dollars in expense checks. Don't they have only 72 hours to get it to me?

Re: Expenses outstanding

An employer is required pay an employee in full on the last day of work if the employee has provided at least 72 hours notice of quit. If you had submitted the expenses at least 3 days prior to your last day you should have been paid in full on your last day. Labor Code Sections 202 and 203 provide a penalty of up to 30 days pay for failure to pay all sums due upon termination. You should file a cliam with Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.
