Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I am experiencing workplace retaliation for reporting the executive director to the board of trustees. I was assaulted by a staff member this last Tuesday and have not returned to work. I called in sick every day I've been out. I picked up my check today and was informed that the 10 sick days I have had for the last 4 years had been cut to 3 and I had used them up. My check was considerably short. Is there anything I can do get that money back? you can see on my check stub where my hours are accrued and I had plenty of hours to cover my time off
