Legal Question in Employment Law in California

False Accusations

I work for a large company with hundrends of district office. A false complaint was filed with my HQ in Michigan. An Operations manager has come to my office to investigate. One employee claims I violated a company policy. I was summoned into the office to answer, I was on the job for over 13 hours and didn't know the extent of the claim so I provided the short answer. He will not give me any infromation he is reporting via phone to his boss and continually misrepresent what i have said.It is clear I will be fired, can I stop this from happening? He forces me to explain things not related to the complaint and then claims I'm uncooperative and only intersted in taking other down with me. I was told if I went directly to my Hq I would be terminated immeadately and that he was my only hope of saving my job? by the way the violation was committed by co workers a month ago and all they got was a warning? At will is confusing me. If they accuss me of this and its not proven can they still fire me? Just cuz they want to
