Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Can I file grievence for neglect?
I have been a restaurant manager for my company for 7 years with no performance issues. Recently I had been experiencing mental frustrations due to instability in the workplace. A week ago I had to take a customer complaint which was no diff. than any other, and the frustration got the best of me, I broke down crying in front of the customers and my employees. The next day I addressed the issue with my Boss hoping for some kind of support. I told her exactly what happened and she replied with ''If you don't want to be here then why don't you quit'', so I handed her the keys and walked out. She had no support, no concern for my mental well being, and I had nobody else to talk to at the time. I filed a complaint with the Human Resources department, and did not get anything out of it. Please let me know if I can do anything about this? If my boss had not said those words to me I probably would still be employeed with the company.
Thanks
