Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Fired through fiance

I was hired at a job on May 1. I was fired on July 5. i was an assistant manager for a clothing store. my boss became hostile and overly critical after my first week. due to some personal issues i was coming to work late a few times, my boss being fully aware of the problems of my personal life from the day she hired me. On July 4, i had to call in because i lost my child care provider and had noone else to turn to. I gave over 4 hrs notice. On July 5th i over slept and when i phoned my fiance less than two hours into my shift he informed me that his mother (one of the other managers) had called his brother and told him to inform me that i could give my keys to him, that my boss would trust him with the keys, if i could not make up there myself, when i called to make arrangements for my keys i was informed that my last check was already waiting for me.

Do i have a legal right to say i was wrongfully fired through my fiance and his brother?
