Legal Question in Employment Law in California
I was fired from my job in California. I have been unable to find work quickly, so I want to open a business. I have a partner that will be doing most of the work and the company will not be able to pay us anything for a few months. Am I still eligible for unemployment benefits?

One of the criteria, to be eligible to receive benefits, is you have to be looking and willing to accept employment. If you stop looking for work because of your business, you will probably not be eligible.
