can i get fired for looking for another job and can I receive unemployment benefits?

Yes, you can be fired for no reason or any reason, unless it's an illegal reason, which this is not. The trick is to not let your employer know you're looking for another job! If you are fired because of it, you should receive unemployment benefits unless, of course, another job comes through.
