Fired

I was fired for somthing i did and admitted to 6 months after it happened and then the manager of the store told the unemployment person something that never happened that i told him didn't happen is this legal?

Employers may provide their version of why you were fired to EDD, without fear of legal recourse. If you are denied benefits based on their lies, your remedy is to appeal the decision and prove them wrong at an administrative hearing. If, however, the employer tells the same lies to prospective employers of yours, you may sue them for defamation.
