Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Can I Get Fired?

I work for a program as a tutor. I was trying to help out one of the participant to look for the director of the program. Well, then I and the participant met the vice president of student services. I ask if she saw the director and then she asked me for a reason. I told her and then after the day was over the director said that she wanted me fired. My question is can see fire me for just talking to her?

Re: Can I Get Fired?

As you are probably an at-will employee, your employer can fire you for any reason or no reason, as long as it is not an illegal reason. Nothing in your inquiry indicates that it was an illegal reason, so yes, you can be fired.
