Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Firing a Nanny for suspected theft
I am employee a nanny 2 days a week while I work from home. I was planning on laying her off this summer at which time I will begin working part time. Last week however we discovered my husbands jewlery missing. We have looked everywhere and it now appears the only possible suspect is the nanny. We can't prove it is her but we are 99% sure it is her that stold from us.
Can I legally fire my nanny for suspected theft?

Re: Firing a Nanny for suspected theft
you dont need a reason to fire her. dont accuse her of the theft, just tell her that her services are not needed any more and let her go.
